Social Fetch is the closest competitor to our own thesis: one REST API, one schema, many platforms. They cover 24. We cover 12.
If you are looking for an alternative to them, the honest first question is whether you want fewer platforms — and there are real reasons you might.
What it costs
Pay-as-you-go packs — credits that you buy once:
| Pack | Pack price | Credits in the pack | Rate per 1,000 credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $14.00 | 1,000 | $14.00 |
| Growth | $47.00 | 25,000 | $1.88 |
| Scale | $379.00 | 230,000 | $1.64 |
Subscriptions — monthly credit allowances:
| Plan | Credits/month |
|---|---|
| Starter | 15,000 |
| Growth | 50,000 |
| Scale | 150,000 |
Annual subscriptions are 15% off monthly. New accounts get 100 free credits, no card.
⚠️ The subscription prices are not on the page we read. The credit allowances are published; the monthly dollar amounts were not visible in our reading of 2 October 2026. We publish the pack prices, which are complete, and say the subscription column is missing rather than estimating it from the packs.
⚠️ Most lookups cost 1 credit, but not all — their own note says routes with a different cost show it in the API reference, and gives LinkedIn profiles at 3 credits. So "$1.64 per 1,000" is the rate for 1-credit routes, and the real rate depends on which routes you call. Same shape as Xpoz, where Instagram costs 6× a Reddit query.
The coverage, honestly
Their 24, from their own page: "TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, X (Twitter), Threads, Bluesky, Reddit, Rumble, Twitch, Telegram, Linktree, Hacker News, Truth Social, Spotify, Apple Music, GitHub, Google Ad Library, Amazon, and web extraction routes."
Our 12, derived from the live catalogue and not typed by hand: Bluesky, GitHub, Instagram, Linktree, Mastodon, Medium, Pinterest, SoundCloud, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, Hacker News.
They cover everything we cover except Mastodon, Medium and SoundCloud. And they cover twelve we do not — including LinkedIn, X and Reddit, which are the three most-searched gaps in this market and the three we say plainly we do not serve.
So: if you need LinkedIn, X or Reddit, they have them and we do not. That is not a hedge, it is the answer.
Why you might want fewer platforms
Because coverage is a promise, and a wide promise is harder to keep. Every
platform is a parser that breaks on its own schedule. We publish
what each of our twelve actually fills — all twelve
Author fields are nullable, and the page says which platform returns null for
which field and why. Linktree returns followers: null by decision, because a
link list is not an account someone follows; YouTube returns null when the
channel hides the count, because the API ships "0" and publishing that zero
would be a claim about the world.
We do not know how Social Fetch handles those cases. We did not read their schema, and we are not going to characterise it from their platform count.
Because 24 includes Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon, which are not social networks. If your product is social analytics, part of that breadth is catalogue you will not open — the same objection people raise about Apify's marketplace.
The options, side by side
| Unit | Cheapest way in | Platforms | Archive | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Social Fetch | credit (1–3) | $14.00 pack of 1,000 credits · 100 free | 24 | not published |
| SocialCrawl | credit | see page | ~44 claimed | no |
| ScrapeCreators | credit | see page | social | no |
| EnsembleData | daily unit | see page | social | no |
| Xpoz | query (2–12) | $20/mo · 500 free once | 4 | no |
| HonestHook | API call | free, 1,000/mo renewing | 12 | hourly, never deleted |
The one thing no unified API on this page sells
An hourly archive of what is rising, kept and never deleted.
Every API here — ours included — answers what is this thing now. Only an archive answers what gained traction, and that cannot be added later: the past was not photographed. It is the reason we cover twelve platforms instead of twenty-four, because capturing hourly across twelve is already the whole job.
If what you need is breadth today, Social Fetch is a better buy than we are. If what you need is whether something accelerated last week, no amount of platform coverage answers it.

Pack prices, credit counts, the 15% annual discount, the 100 free credits, the 24-platform list and the 3-credit LinkedIn note read from socialfetch.dev/pricing on 2 October 2026 — primary source, fetched for this page. The per-1,000 column is our arithmetic on their pack prices. The monthly dollar price of their subscription tiers was not visible in that reading and is not published here. Our own 12 platforms are derived from the live route catalogue, not typed. Verify before deciding.
