Eight of the nine results for this pair are pages written about it, Bright Data's own blog included. Both vendors sell the same thing — getting a request through to a hostile site — and both publish a number that is a floor, not an average. One of them prints the multiplier next to it.
⚠️ We are the least relevant party on this page and we are saying it first. We do not sell proxies, bandwidth or unblocking. If this is the comparison you are making, the answer is one of the two below, and our only honest contribution is the arithmetic plus one thing neither sells.
What Oxylabs costs — read directly today
Web Scraper API:
| Plan | Price/month | Results included | Per 1,000, their words |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free trial | $0 | up to 2,000 | — ("No credit card required") |
| Micro | $49 | up to 98,000 | "Starting from $0.50" |
| Starter | $99 | up to 220,000 | "Starting from $0.45" |
| Advanced | $249 | up to 622,500 | "Starting from $0.40" |
And on the same page, the rate by target:
| Target | Per 1,000 results |
|---|---|
| Amazon, no JS | $0.40 – $0.50 |
| Google, no JS | $0.80 – $1.00 |
| Any other target, no JS | $0.95 – $1.15 |
| With JavaScript rendering | $1.25 – $1.35 |
| Media downloads | $2.00 – $3.00 per GB |
Residential proxies start at $6/GB, from their pricing index.
⚠️ The headline rate is exactly price ÷ results — we checked:
49 ÷ 98,000 = $0.5000, 99 ÷ 220,000 = $0.4500, 249 ÷ 622,500 = $0.4000. So
the number on the plan is the price of the cheapest target. An ordinary site
costs $0.95–$1.15, which is 2.4× to 2.9× the headline. Credit where it is
due: that multiplier is on their page, published by them, and most vendors in
this market do not print theirs.
⚠️ Their per-GB volume tiers did not render for us today, only the "from $6/GB" entry. So this page does not claim an Oxylabs floor at volume.
What Bright Data costs — one grade weaker, and said before the table
brightdata.com refused a direct page read for the second time ("unable to
verify if domain is safe"), so this half comes from search restricted to
their own domain. Primary source, not the rendered table.
| Product | Price, as published |
|---|---|
| Residential, pay-as-you-go | $8/GB |
| Residential, with commitment | $7/GB down to $5/GB by volume |
| Web Unlocker API | from $1 per 1,000 requests |
| SERP API | from $1 per 1,000 requests |
They also advertise a 50% discount on the $8, taking it to $4/GB. We are not publishing that as a price — an offer is not a rate card, and we do not know who it applies to or for how long.
The two comparisons that survive contact
Residential entry: Oxylabs $6/GB against Bright Data $8/GB. That is 25% cheaper to start, and it is the clearest difference between them. But Bright Data's pay-as-you-go has no monthly floor, and Oxylabs' entry is a plan — so an idle month costs $0 on one and the plan price on the other. Spiky traffic flips this comparison.
Arbitrary target, per 1,000: they land in the same band. Bright Data's Web Unlocker is from $1/1,000 requests; Oxylabs' any-other-target rate is $0.95–$1.15/1,000 results. ⚠️ And "request" is not "result" — a blocked attempt is a request. Which of the two counts failures is the difference that decides this, and neither page we read today answers it.
At volume, only one of them published a floor to us: Bright Data's $5/GB. Oxylabs' volume tiers did not render.
Where each one wins
Bright Data wins on reach into the hardest targets, on dataset delivery as a product, and on pay-as-you-go with no monthly commitment — the right shape for irregular work.
Oxylabs wins on entry price per GB, and on something rarer than price: publishing the multiplier. A vendor that prints "any other target costs 2.4× the headline" has already told you the thing most buyers discover on their second invoice.
Both win over us on anything that is not one of twelve social platforms, which is to say nearly everything.
The one thing neither sells, and we do
An hourly archive of what is rising, kept and never deleted.
Proxies and unblockers answer fetch me this page now. An archive answers what accelerated, and it cannot be bought retroactively: the past was not photographed. We also sell one response shape across twelve platforms with a per-field contract — which is parsing, not fetching, and is the half neither vendor on this page is selling you.
| Unit | Entry | Monthly floor | What you get back | |
