Both of these are social-specific APIs, both appeared in our TikTok search measurement, and both are closer to what we do than any proxy vendor is. They also sit at opposite ends of one decision that no price-per-thousand table shows: when your allowance disappears.
That difference outlives every rate on this page, so it goes first.
The clock, which is the actual answer
EnsembleData's allowance is daily. Their pricing page states it plainly: "Every day the daily units are reset at 00:00 UTC." Whatever you did not spend by midnight UTC is gone, and whatever you need beyond one day's units has to wait for tomorrow.
ScrapeCreators' credits never expire. Their page says "credits never expire" and "cached results are free". The same money can be spent in one afternoon or across a year.
The consequence is structural, not a matter of degree:
| You want to | EnsembleData | ScrapeCreators |
|---|---|---|
| Backfill 200,000 profiles this week | impossible below the top tiers — the day caps you | buy the credits, spend them now |
| Run 300 calls a day, forever | fits the small tiers comfortably | fine, and cached repeats cost nothing |
| Go quiet for two months | you still pay, and the units evaporate nightly | credits sit there |
| Burst once a quarter | the worst case for this model | the best case for that one |
Neither is wrong. A daily cap is how you keep a shared backend predictable, and it is why their per-day numbers can be generous. But if your work is lumpy, the clock decides before the price does.
What EnsembleData costs
| Plan | Monthly price | Units per day |
|---|---|---|
| Free trial | $0 | 50 |
| Wood | $100 | 1,500 |
| Bronze | $200 | 5,000 |
| Silver | $400 | 11,000 |
| Gold | $800 | 25,000 |
| Platinum | $1,400 | 50,000 |
| Diamond | not shown | not shown |
Coverage listed on every plan: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Threads, Reddit, Twitch, Twitter and Snapchat.
⚠️ Two numbers are not on that page, and both matter. What one unit costs when you exceed the daily cap is not published, and whether unused units roll over is not stated — only that they reset. We are recording both as absent rather than inferring them.
What ScrapeCreators costs
| Plan | Price | Credits | Per 1,000 requests, as published |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100, plus up to 7,000 claimable | — |
| Freelance | $47 | 25,000 | $1.88 / 1k |
| Business | $497 | 500,000 | $0.99 / 1k |
| Enterprise | custom | 1M+ | custom |
No credit card on any of the self-serve tiers. The page advertises 38+ APIs across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Pinterest and Threads among others.
This is the rarer thing in this market: a vendor publishing a per-thousand rate you can multiply without asking anybody.
The arithmetic, and it is ours
A monthly comparison requires turning a daily cap into a month, which means assuming you spend every single day. That assumption is ours, not theirs, and it flatters EnsembleData:
EnsembleData Wood $100/mo · 1,500/day × 30 = 45,000 units/mo ≈ $2.22 / 1k
ScrapeCreators $47 · 25,000 credits, no clock = $1.88 / 1k
Even under the assumption most generous to the daily model, the published per-thousand rate is lower on the other side — and the credits do not vanish. Spend only half the days and the Wood tier's effective rate doubles while ScrapeCreators' does not move.
⚠️ A unit is not a credit. EnsembleData does not publish a per-endpoint unit cost and ScrapeCreators notes that composite calls cost more than one credit. So the two rates above are not the same quantity, and we are not presenting them as a winner — only as evidence that the clock, not the rate, is the decision.
Where each one wins
EnsembleData wins on steady, high daily volume across eight networks with a flat monthly bill. If you genuinely run every day, the top tiers buy a lot of throughput and the budget is a single line.
ScrapeCreators wins on lumpy work, on breadth of endpoint, and on the two terms that make it cheap in practice: credits that never expire and cached results that cost nothing. For an agent that re-reads the same profiles, free cache is not a footnote.
Neither one commits to a field-level contract across platforms, which is the next section and a narrow claim.
Where we fit, and where we are smaller
HonestHook covers twelve social platforms — fewer than either of
them. What we sell instead of breadth is
a published per-field contract: the same field in the
same place on all twelve, or null with a stated reason rather than a zero.
| Unit | Allowance clock | Entry | Platforms | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EnsembleData | unit | resets daily, 00:00 UTC | $0 trial, 50/day | 8 listed |
| ScrapeCreators | credit | never expires | $0, 100 credits | 38+ APIs |
| HonestHook | API call | purchased never expire | free, 1,000 credits/mo | 12 |
If you need Snapchat, Twitch, Facebook or LinkedIn, we do not have them and both vendors above do. Say so to anyone who tells you a twelve-platform API is a substitute for a thirty-eight-endpoint one.
The thing none of the three sells
An hourly archive of what is rising, kept and never deleted.
All three answer what is this profile now. Only an archive answers what accelerated, and a daily reset is particularly bad at it: the measurement you skipped at midnight is not recoverable tomorrow, because the past was not photographed.

EnsembleData's seven plan rows with monthly prices and daily unit allowances, the eight listed platforms and the reset wording "every day the daily units are reset at 00:00 UTC" read from ensembledata.com/pricing on 3 October 2026 — primary source. The per-extra-unit price and the rollover behaviour are recorded as not published because they were not on that page. ScrapeCreators' four tiers with prices, credit allowances, the $1.88 and $0.99 per-1,000 rates, the "38+ APIs" figure, the no-card terms and the "credits never expire" and "cached results are free" wording read from scrapecreators.com on 3 October 2026 — primary source. The $2.22/1k figure for Wood is our arithmetic, assuming the full daily allowance is spent on all 30 days, and is labelled as ours in the body. Verify before deciding.
