Who you are dealing with
HonestHook is operated by Interdemo Tecnologia LTDA, CNPJ 64.006.872/0001-40, a company registered in Brazil.
Everything in these terms that says “email us” means the address at the bottom of this page. It is read by a person, and it is the same address used for support, cancellations, refunds and data requests.
What the service is
HonestHook is an API that returns public data from social platforms — the kind of information any logged-out visitor can see on a profile page — plus an archive of how those numbers changed over time.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any of those platforms. They can change what they publish, how they publish it, or block automated reading at any moment and without warning. When that happens the affected endpoint can degrade or stop, and we will say so on the status page rather than return something that looks right.
The service is provided as it is, without a guarantee of availability, and there is no uptime commitment in these terms. What we do commit to is not inventing data: a field we cannot read comes back as null, never as zero.
The archive begins on 5 September 2026. Nothing before that date exists, and no one can create it after the fact.
Credits, and what they cost
Calls are paid for in credits, not per call, because endpoints cost different amounts. Most cost 1 credit; archive/movers costs 10, because it does the comparison for you; archive/coverage and account cost nothing.
Every key gets 1,000 free credits a month. They reset on the 1st at 00:00 UTC, and they do not carry over — the month starts again at 1,000 whether you used none or all of them.
Credits you buy do not expire. They are not a monthly ration: they sit on your key until they are spent.
The free monthly allowance is spent first, and the purchased balance is what you fall back on. That order is why buying credits never wastes the free ones.
A call that finds nothing does not cost anything on the profile and posts endpoints, and on archive/movers. The one exception is archive/trends, which costs its 1 credit whether or not the niche had movement that hour — the work of reading the archive happens either way. archive/coverage never costs anything at all.
When the balance runs out the API answers 402 and stops. There is no overage billing and no invoice you did not agree to.
Subscriptions, cancelling, and refunds
A paid plan is a subscription: it renews on its own, monthly or yearly, until it is cancelled. Each renewal adds its credits to your key.
To cancel, email us. We cancel within one business day, and the subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for — cancelling never takes away time you bought.
After cancelling, the credits you had already bought stay on your key and keep working, and the 1,000 free credits a month keep renewing. Cancelling ends the renewals, not your balance.
If you want your money back, email us within 7 days of a charge and we refund it in full, no questions asked. That applies to each charge separately, including a renewal you did not mean to keep.
Your key
Your API key is yours and is meant to identify you. Treat it like a password: anyone holding it can spend your credits, and we cannot tell them apart from you.
We store only a hash of the key. That is why we can never show it to you again, and why there is no “recover my key” — there is only replacing it.
Replacing the key gives you a new secret on the same key: your balance, your free allowance and your plan come along. The old key stops working the moment you confirm — anything running with it starts failing immediately. You can replace it once every 24 hours.
You can share access to your own project however you like, but you may not resell the key or resell access to the API as if it were your own service.
What you must not use it for
Do not use HonestHook to harass, stalk, threaten or target anyone. Reading a public follower count is not the same as building a dossier on a person, and we will close an account used for the second.
Do not work around the limits: no sharing one key across unrelated products to dodge the allowance, no issuing keys in bulk from a script, and no creating accounts to reset the free tier.
Do not resell the key or the API access, and do not present our responses as your own live scraping of the platforms.
Do not use the service for anything illegal where you are, or in a way that breaks the terms of the platforms whose public pages the data comes from.
If we close a key for one of these reasons we will say which one, by email, and we will refund any unused purchased balance.
What we are responsible for
We are responsible for the service doing what this site says it does, and for being honest about it when it does not.
We are not responsible for what you build on top of the data, for decisions you take because of it, or for losses that follow from a platform changing what it publishes. If we do owe you something, it is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem — which for a free key is nothing.
None of this removes rights you have under Brazilian consumer law. Where these terms and that law disagree, the law wins.
Changes, and where disputes go
If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we email the address on your key before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this page always says which version you are reading.
Continuing to use the service after that date means the new terms apply. If you would rather not, email us and we refund the unused part of what you paid.
These terms are governed by Brazilian law, and disputes go to the courts of the district where our registered office is located.
