Best SoundCloud API for profile data

What to require of any vendor here

• Ask which of the two it reads. `followers_count` and `followings_count` differ by one letter, and on the account used for our own capture the wrong one reads zero. Pick it and you publish a well-known artist with no followers — valid JSON, no error, a number that is simply false.
• Ask whether it reads by exact field name or by matching a suffix. Matching `*Count` in a block with seven counters picks whichever comes first, and which one comes first is not your decision.
• Ask what it returns for plays and likes. Those are per track, not per profile, so a profile endpoint that reports them is answering a different question than the one you asked.

Where the number actually lives

We read followers_count from public page, logged out — not followings_count. Handle format: SoundCloud permalink: letters, digits, hyphen and underscore. It is the last part of the profile URL, not the display name.

What you are handing over

The number comes from the __sc_hydration block, which is real embedded JSON with seven counters in it, one of them right. Keeping the right one selected when SoundCloud reshuffles that block is what you are handing over.

What this does not return

• No private accounts. SoundCloud has no private profile of this kind, so is_private is null.
• No plays and no likes. Those are per track, not per profile, and this endpoint answers about the profile.
• Not followings_count. It sits one letter away from followers_count in the same object and reads zero on the account measured, so the wrong field would have published a verified artist with no followers.
