Best API for each platform
One page per platform we serve, 12 of them. Each names what that platform actually hides, what to require of any vendor because of it, and which of our endpoints answer it.
- Best Bluesky API for profile data
The AT Protocol is public, documented and needs no key — so the question is not access. It is whether whoever you pick anchors on the DID instead of the handle.
3 endpoints
- Best GitHub API wrapper for profile data
GitHub runs an official public API, so the honest question is what a wrapper adds. The answer is the normalisation, and it is narrower than a sales page claims.

- Best Hacker News API for search
The index is public and free, so nobody needs to sell you access. What costs a day to learn is that it answers a bad query with a full page of results instead of an error.
2 endpoints
- Best Instagram API for public profile data
Instagram's own API asks for a login and an app review before it tells you a public follower count. Every vendor here is reading the public page instead — so ask how, and ask what breaks.
3 endpoints
- Best Linktree API for reading a link page
Linktree has no follower count — it is not a number anyone failed to read, it does not exist on the platform. So a vendor that returns one for it is returning something it invented.
1 endpoint
- Best Mastodon API for public profile data
Mastodon is thousands of servers that agree on a protocol, and that single fact decides whether a vendor can answer correctly at all.
2 endpoints
- Best Medium API for author profile data
Medium answers 200 for a handle that does not exist. Any vendor that checks the status code and then parses will treat your typo as a real author.
1 endpoint
- Best Pinterest API for profile follower data
A Pinterest profile page carries dozens of counters that share the same name. Boards have followers; the profile has followers. A regular expression returns a board's and looks exactly like a win.
2 endpoints
- Best SoundCloud API for profile data
SoundCloud embeds real JSON in its page, which sounds like the easy case. It is not: that block holds seven counters and two of them are one letter apart.
1 endpoint
- Best Threads API for public profile data
A plain request to Threads does not fail. It returns a large page with no follower count in it — so the question is whether your vendor gets the other page.
2 endpoints
- Best TikTok API for public profile data
The hard part is not parsing TikTok. It is getting the real page: a request from a datacenter address is served a challenge that answers 200 OK and contains no data.
1 endpoint
- Best YouTube API for channel data
YouTube runs an official Data API, so access is not the problem. The problem is that the number it gives you is already rounded, and most vendors do not say so.
1 endpoint
Every page here ends in the same place, because there is only one thing to do with the answer: call it yourself and see.
