Public GitHub profile via the official api.github.com/users/{login}. No key and no account.

What this endpoint does not return.

posts_countNull on purpose. public_repos counts repositories, not posts. Mapping one onto the other would put a repository count in a field every other network fills with posts.

A field we cannot read comes back null, never 0. A zero would be a claim about the account; null is a fact about our collection.

Measured

479 to 659 bytes on the wire compressed across 5 accounts measured 2026-09-24, 1,189 to 1,447 decoded. It varies with the length of the bio. There is no single number, so we publish the range.

Cost

1 credit per call. A call that finds nothing costs nothing.

Why is posts_count null for GitHub?

A repository is not a post. The field stays null rather than carry a number that means something else.

How big is the response?

479 to 659 bytes compressed across five measured accounts. It tracks the length of the bio.
