instagram-api/embed
What an embed of a profile shows: the author, and the posts that come on the public page itself — caption, thumbnail and media type. No counters, because the page has none.

handlefollower_countidurltextthumbnail_urlmedia_typeA field we cannot read comes back null, never 0. A zero would be a claim about the account; null is a fact about our collection.
This is not an alias of instagram/profile. If it returned only the author it would be the same route under a second name, inflating an endpoint count without adding a byte. What it adds is the list the profile route returns empty. And it is not called /posts either: the */posts family here returns per-post counters, and this page has none.
Measured on 2026-10-01 against the committed 829 KB page for nasa: the grid carries 12 nodes and 7 of them belong to nasa. The other 5 are collaborators — 2 nasajohnson, 2 astro_anil, 1 jeopardy — and they are dropped by user.username, the same filter threads/posts uses.
1 credit per call. A call that finds nothing costs nothing.
No. It reads the profile page — the document we have measured and keep as a committed fixture. Chasing the literal embed surface would trade proven data for assumed data to earn a more literal name.
Five of the twelve on nasa's grid belong to other accounts. The number is whatever the profile itself posted among the nodes the page brought.
