HonestHook MCP server in Claude Code
One command adds it, or one file if you want the whole team to get it from version control.
Where the config lives
| Scope | File |
|---|---|
| Shared with the team | .mcp.json |
| Only you | ~/.claude.json |
One command
claude mcp add --transport http honesthook https://honesthook.com/api/mcpThe config
{
"mcpServers": {
"honesthook": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://honesthook.com/api/mcp"
}
}
}`--scope project` writes `.mcp.json`, which is the one that travels in git. Without the flag it goes to `~/.claude.json` and stays with you.
The server exposes 12 tools, 5 of them with no key and no credits — the full list, and what each one returns, is on the integrations index. The endpoint reference is on the docs page.
Put it in `.mcp.json` and the whole team gets it from git — but the key is per person, and the free one needs no card.
