SocialKit sells video intelligence: transcripts, summaries, stats and comments for social videos, with "40+ APIs" across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn and uploaded video files.
That is a different product from ours more than a cheaper or dearer version of it, and the honest version of this page starts there.
Everything about their pricing below was read from socialkit.dev on
3 October 2026. Our own numbers come from the module that builds our
checkout.
What they charge
Monthly subscriptions, credits per month. Their page says "Most requests cost 1 credit", and that "More results or longer videos may use more."
| Plan | Monthly | Credits/month | Per 1,000 credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 20 | — |
| Standard | $29 | 12,000 | $2.4167 |
| Growth | $39 | 18,000 | $2.1667 |
| Ultimate | $95 | 50,000 | $1.90 |
| Business | $210 | 150,000 | $1.40 |
The per-1,000 column is our division of their two numbers.
⚠️ The annual price is not on this page, on purpose. Their toggle reads "Yearly(30% off)", but the plan cards we read say "$29/month" and "Billed $348 annually", and $348 is exactly 12 × $29 — no discount in the figure. One of the two is the rendered default and we could not tell which. We publish the monthly column, which is consistent, and leave the annual one out rather than compute 30% off ourselves.
They also note that "Accounts created before the pricing rollout keep their previous credit rates for 30 days" — so these are new prices, and older reviews quoting other numbers may have been right at the time.
What we charge
| Plan | Price | Credits | Per 1,000 credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free tier | $0 | 1,000 per month, renewing | — |
| Monthly | $9 | 5,000 | $1.80 |
| Annual | $79 | 60,000 | $1.3167 |
| Pack | $9 | 3,000 | $3.00 |
| Pack | $29 | 12,000 | $2.4167 |
| Pack | $99 | 50,000 | $1.98 |
Their $29 Standard and our $29 pack are the same rate to the cent — 12,000 credits for $29, $2.4167 per thousand. The difference is the shape: theirs renews every month, ours is bought once and does not expire. Neither is a better deal; pick the shape that matches how often you call.
Where SocialKit beats us, plainly
Transcripts and summaries. They turn a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram video into text and a summary. We do not sell that at all. If what you need is what was said in a video, the price comparison below is irrelevant and they are the answer.
LinkedIn, X and Facebook. They list all three. We serve none of them.
Video-level depth. Per-video stats, comments, channel video lists, search, playlist videos, download. Our YouTube route is a channel; our TikTok route is a profile.
At volume, the rates converge. Their Business tier is $1.40 per thousand; our annual plan is $1.3167. That is 1.06× — noise, not an argument.
Where the shape is different
The free tier. We give 1,000 credits every month, renewing. They give 20 a month. Both renew, so this one is comparable: it is 50× — enough to build and test an integration on ours, enough to try a handful of calls on theirs.
Platforms that are not video. Our catalogue has routes for twelve platforms — Bluesky, GitHub, Instagram, Linktree, Mastodon, Medium, Pinterest, SoundCloud, Threads, TikTok, YouTube and Hacker News. The overlap with SocialKit is YouTube, TikTok and Instagram; the rest of ours are accounts and text, not videos.
History. We keep an hourly archive of what is rising, never deleted. A video API answers what a video says now; an archive answers what gained traction last week.
Units line up on the overlap. "Most requests cost 1 credit" on their side;
on ours, the TikTok profile, Instagram profile and YouTube channel routes each
cost 1 credit per call (per-endpoint costs are in
the endpoint reference, and every response reports
credits_charged). Their longer videos may cost more; check before you model.
How to decide in one question
Do you need what is said in the video, or who posted it?
If the words — transcripts, summaries — SocialKit does it and we do not.
If the account — followers, profile, posts across platforms that are not all video — and you want a free tier you can build on, that is what we sell.
For the rest of the field: ScrapeCreators, Supadata for transcripts specifically, and Social Fetch for breadth.
Who measured this
We did, and we sell in this category. We have not called their API; this page compares published prices and published coverage, not response quality.
Plan prices, monthly credits, the free 20 credits, the "Most requests cost 1
credit" note, the "Yearly(30% off)" label, the "Billed $348 annually" text, the
30-day legacy-rate note and the platform list read from socialkit.dev on 3 October
2026 — primary source, read directly from the page's pricing section. The per-1,000
column and the 50× and 1.06× ratios are our arithmetic. Our prices come from
lib/planos.js; the 1-credit cost of our TikTok, Instagram and YouTube routes was
read from our endpoint table on 3 October 2026; our platform list is derived from the route catalogue. Verify
before deciding.
